We stand behind our products and warranty against manufacturer defects for one year from the date of manufacture.
We realize some packages are difficult to open, so we try to make it as easy as we can for you. However, our packaging must also be designed to meet retailers' guidelines, such as making sure the product is protected during shipment, and secured in place while hanging from a peg, or stacked on a shelf. In addition, we must pass internationally mandated tests to make sure our package can endure being dropped. Our packaging is also designed to keep the product free from dust and/or other elements it may come into contact with prior to purchase. Everything from cardboard thickness to multiple twist-ties are part of specific protocols to maximize product safety. Our packaging is regularly assessed – we want to be sure that your first experience with our toy is a great one.
Yes, they are suitable for children with special needs. Each Battat® toy is designed with an age rating in mind to help you choose the best toy for your child's needs. In addition, some of our toys have been recommended by the National Lekotek Center, an independent non-profit organization founded to help children with special needs. They apply the AblePlay™ Rating System, a broad product evaluation system that rates toys using a one- to five-star ranking system, to assess the accessibility and usefulness for children with physical, sensory, communicative, or cognitive disabilities. You can learn more about the National Lekotek Center.
You should be able to receive an exchange or a refund at the store where you purchased your Battat® toy. Otherwise, our customer service representatives can help you. Affordability is a big goal of ours. Our production partners in China allow us to offer our high-quality toys at prices most can afford. We have strong relationships with our production team overseas. We also conduct random on-site audits of factories to ensure the highest standards are met in manufacturing and in employee health, safety and human rights. We are happy that Target, our largest retail supplier, requires an equally firm commitment to human rights from any brand they carry.
Additionally, our production partners have been integral in working with us to create packaging that has as little impact as possible on our planet. We treasure our overseas partners.
Children are our greatest treasure and they need to be protected at every turn. Rest assured that all our toys go through stringent testing procedures that meet or exceed all U.S., Canadian and the even more stringent European safety standards, all regulations regarding age guidelines, all Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) directives and guidelines, and all regulations of the American Society for Testing and Materials. In addition to our product testing, we do in-house use and abuse test on all products. We then perform on-site inspection of our products with our own quality control staff during the manufacturing process as well as before products are shipped from the factory.
The materials we use vary according to the toy and its age rating. We use wood, plastic, cloth, metal, and other materials. We ensure that all our wood toys are smoothly sanded to avoid any rough edges, and we go the extra mile by rounding out all corners. There are established safety guidelines for all materials used; we follow these guidelines, and keep a watchful eye on regulations and current events in the industry.
We completely understand your worries about your children’s safety. We feel the same about your children and our own. However, the U.S. CPSC does not recommend toy testing be done at home. Home testing kits can produce unreliable results, leading you to a false sense of safety or concern. Testing should be done by a certified lab where the environment is controlled. And rest assured our toys have already been there.
We want to hear about any concern you might have. Please email us at email@example.com with the words SAFETY ISSUE in the subject line so we can make it our first priority. Be sure to include your name and telephone number in case we have questions. Or you can call us at 1-866-665-5524, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
To preserve natural resources, we now use the bare minimum to package our toys. While the plastic, paper and cardboard are recyclable, please check with your local recycling center to verify if the toy is recyclable.
Taking care of your toys
Cleaning suggestions depend on the specific material used in the toy and whether or not it has batteries or an electronic component. In general, plastic toys can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol or (for a better planet) a soft cloth dampened with warm, soapy water. Wipe down the surface and allow the toy to dry thoroughly. Wood toys can be cleaned with furniture polish or a soft damp cloth. Warm, soapy water can be used to spot clean you plush toys. Check the sewn-in label for details, as some plush toys can be machine-washed. For toys that go in the bathtub and collect water inside, mold may grow over time. Simply fill a bowl with water and suck up a strong solution of kosher salt and water or straight vinegar. Let it sit overnight and then rinse it out with salt solution or vinegar. You can repeat this as many times as necessary. If you want to use bleach, dilute it half-and-half with water. After scrubbing, flush with lots and lots of water.
- For best results, it is recommended to use a wire brush.
- Divide doll's hair into small sections and gently brush them one at a time. Make sure to brush out the tangles starting from the bottom of the hair and then moving up.
- Mist doll's hair lightly with water from a spray bottle if you are having a hard time detangling it.
- If the doll has wavy hair, be very gentle when brushing the ends to help preserve the curls.
- For tight curls, finger style the doll's hair. Separate a small section of the hair and work your fingers through it, twirling as you go.
- For braided styles, tightly braiding the doll's hair while damp will help control frizzy ends.
- Avoid using styling products like gel or mousse, as this may damage the doll's hair.
- Avoid using a blow dryer, hot rollers, curling or straightening iron.
- Always keep doll's hair away from extreme heat.
For doll faces and bodies, simply wash the surface gently until clean with a wet, soapy cloth, and then air dry at room temperature. For clothing and accessories, spot clean with cold water and a mild soap, and then air dry. Do no put any doll, clothing, or accessory in the washing machine, dryer or near any direct heat source.
